The Vojvodina Hungarian Cultural Institute launched the VAMADIA Digital Archive in 2019, which aims to digitize and make accessible the intellectual and tangible cultural heritage of the Hungarians in Vojvodina.

The Vojvodina Hungarian Cultural Institute was founded in 2012, with its headquarters in Senta. Its mission is to preserve, develop, and promote the culture of Vojvodina Hungarians. The institute's staff conducts research, publishes books and periodicals, and organizes conferences and cultural events.

Our Services

The VAMADIA portal is free to use without registration. Digitized materials can be freely browsed, searched, and downloaded. Users can access content in multiple languages.

Our Digital Libraries

The portal contains six main collections that are continuously expanding:

  • Periodical Archive – journals, newspapers, yearbooks
  • Fine Arts Archive – paintings, graphics, sculptures
  • Photo Archive – historical and contemporary photograph collection
  • Audio Archive – folk music, folk tales, interviews, recordings
  • Portrait Gallery – biographical database of creators

Future Plans

The VAMADIA project is constantly evolving. Our goal is to achieve the most comprehensive digitization of Vojvodina Hungarian cultural heritage and ensure wide access to the content. We also welcome active community participation: submission of old family photos and documents.
